Forest School

Stemming from my love of the outdoors and my passion for child-led, community focussed education, I decided to start running forest school sessions in Morzine. I run a weekly session for local children and a separate one for adults.

My Approach

Each weekly Forest School session is 2 hours long and will follow recognised Forest School principles. Activities are learner-led and designed to support confidence, resilience, independence and a meaningful connection with nature. Research shows that Forest School experiences can have a positive impact on children’s emotional wellbeing, problem-solving skills and social development… We also know adults benefit from touching grass too!

Register Interest

Participants have the opportunity to:

• Play and explore in a natural woodland setting

• Learn simple knots and build basic shelters

• Identify local flora and fauna

• Use age-appropriate tools safely

• Take supported risks and develop self-confidence

Upcoming Sessions

  • Dates: April 22nd & 29th, May 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th (all Wednesdays)

(Children must be able to attend all six sessions, as it is important that each session develops from the last and we build a strong sense of community

  • Times: I’m open to feedback from interested parents on what time of day would work best for a 2-hour session.

Adult sessions take place 6-8pm on the dates above.

  • Cost: €100 per child for all six sessions

(This covers resources and a second adult present at each session.) Adult sessions are currently free.

  • Ages: 4–10 years

  • Location: Morzine

If this sounds like something your child might enjoy, please comment or send me a message here, or email hello@sophierowe.com, or complete this form, and I’ll be happy to share more details.
